When walls can't keep the music out

My musical neighbor's flute practice

At least he doesn’t play at 7 a.m.

For the last few weeks (month maybe?) one of my neighbors has been practicing their flute.

How do I know this? He practices outside in the front courtyard of the apartment building.

And the walls are thin in this building, so he is easily heard.

He doesn’t do it everyday, but he does keep it up. A habit of his that I admire.

As much as I want him to stop playing sometimes, I can’t help but commend him for actually putting himself out there.

He seems to not have any issues with imposter syndrome (which is a future topic for the podcast. Coming soon!).

I used to play the flute as well in high school. Maybe I should get myself a new one and go out there. I’m sure our neighbors would love a duet.

Sometimes, I do want to request a song. Maybe I can choose from the following:

  1. Ohio State’s fight song (duh! And if you need me to be more specific, Buckeye Battle Cry or Across the Field will be fine.) - youtube

  2. Princess Leia’s theme from Star Wars - youtube

  3. Experience by Ludocivo Einaudi - youtube

If I recognize the song he is practicing, I’ll let you know.

I’m curious what song you would request.

Did You Know?

  • Spotify has an AI DJ. His name is Xavier Jernigan. He will create and curate personalized playlists for users based on their listening habits, moods, and preferences.

  • Why everyone has been wondering if TikTok will get banned, the apps parent company has a new app, lemon8, making waves in the US. I'm sure that will go over well on the hill.
