Learning new words
Hey! I learned a new word this week. At least I believe I’ve never seen this word before. Actually the more I think about it, there were a couple new words, but that is beside the point.
The New Word:
Sesquicentennial
This word relates to the one-hundred-and-fiftieth anniversary of something. I doubt this is a word that I will use often. I would have to say it multiple times in order for my brain to want to use it because it does not feel comfortable.
Book Buzz
Rebecca Yarros announced on Instagram the next book in the Empyrean Saga would be called Onyx Storm and it is releasing on January 21, 2025. Fourth Wing wasn’t my favorite, but for some reason I needed to know what happens next. I’m currently reading Iron Flame.
Goodreads has posted The 58 Biggest Books of Spring, According to Readers. Will I read any? Maybe a few. Books on the list that seemed interesting:
Where Sleeping Girls Lie by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo
The Emperor and the Endless Palace by Justinian Huang
The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley
New Taylor Swift book news. Not a book she’s written, a book written about her during the first 10 years she was in Nashville. Taylor Swift: The Debut Years. Planned to be released in the summer of 2026.
Turtles All the Way Down by John Green had gotten the adaptation treatment. The trailer has been released. It premieres on Max May 2nd.
